January 2008
January 22, 2008
Well the holidays have come and gone and it is time to get back to business. It is hard to believe that January is almost over. I really dont know where the time goes. I hope everyone had a nice holiday season. I know mine was good.
So far this year, I have been to Orlando, Fla., for a sponsor appearance with my new sponsor U.S. Smokeless Tobacco Co. I had a good time and I am proud to have U. S. Smokeless Tobacco as my sponsor this year. After returning from Florida, it was then time to go to Ft. Worth, Texas, for my first run there. I was a little long but still turned in a solid run of 4.5 seconds. I go back for my second one on Feb. 3 and then hope to be back in the finals later that day.
After Ft. Worth, I went back home to California and worked on getting my rig ready for the New Year. I was up in Denver yesterday, Jan. 21 and today, Jan. 22. I was 3.6 seconds on my first one and I am currently leading the round. I had my second one today and stopped the clock in 3.5 seconds, which is placing third at the moment. The best thing of all though is I am winning the average with a total time of 7.1 seconds on two head, so I will be back in the Mile High City on Jan. 27 for the final round.
While we (Jason Miller, Gabe Ledoux and I) have been in Denver we have been treated like stars at the Warwick Denver Hotel off Grant Street. It is only five minutes from the arena and they have really nice rooms and a great restaurant. The hotel is part of Warwick International Hotels, which is a collection of over 40 of the worlds finest 4-star and 5-star hotels, resorts and spas in the United States, Europe, Asia, Africa, Bali and the South Pacific. It is truly like a home away from home and I would highly recommend checking out their website which is www.warwickhotels.com
A special thanks to everyone at the Warwick Denver Hotel for making our stay so pleasant.
My plan is to go back to California and finish getting things in line for the year. I will return to Denver for the final round on Sunday and then make my way to Ft. Worth. Thanks for everyones support in 2007 and I hope to bring home the gold in 2008.
Until next time,
Luke
