August 2009

August 24, 2009

I can’t believe it is the end of August and we only have one month left in the 2009 rodeo season. Sorry, I have been offline for a few weeks but I have now updated my rodeo schedule through the end of September. As you can see it will be a busy one. I had a strong finish in 2008, so I am hoping for the same this year as I need to make up some ground before we head to Las Vegas.

The last month has been a roller coaster ride having chances at big paydays but then having things fall apart. I have won a little here and there but nothing big. Hopefully, that is all behind me and I will be able to wrestle my way back into the winner’s circle. I need to do well at the last couple of tour rodeos in Bremerton and Ellensburg and in Puyallup, so I can have a shot at the money in Omaha at the end of September. I will keep you posted.

In August I was able to fly home a couple times to see my family. Cade is growing like a weed and walking and running all over. He has even started talking and the other day he told Lindsay – No-no-no. It was pretty funny Lindsay said.

I have been home the last few days hunting close to home with my dad. We didn’t get anything but we did see a lot of deer. I always enjoy my hunting trips. Lindsay and Cade came out one day, so that was fun as well. Next weekend, I am flying home for a buddy’s wedding next weekend and will try to get a hunting trip squeezed in if possible. Otherwise I am looking forward to October, when I will have lots of time for hunting – my annual ritual and a nice break from the rodeo arena.

Well, I gotta run catch a plane up to Pasco, Wash., to compete on Wednesday in Kennewick. Thanks for reading and hope to have good news to share with you all the next time I write in. If possible I will update my results on my schedule page.

Until next time,

Luke
